Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book 5 Pro laptop today in South Korea. The laptop comes in two sizes and uses Intel's Lunar Lake series chip for faster AI performance. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro joins the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 in Samsung's current laptop lineup.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro has been announced for the South Korean market. It will be available for purchase starting January 2, 2025. It comes in 14-inch and 16-inch variants and has two color options: Grey and Silver.

Both laptop variants use the Intel Core Ultra Processor Series 2 processor, which features an NPU with 47 TOPS of performance for on-device AI. Samsung hasn't revealed memory and storage figures for its new laptop yet.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro has a 14-inch or 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The screen also features Vision Booster for higher brightness in outdoor conditions. The laptop has a four-speaker (2x tweeters + 2x woofers) stereo audio system.

The onboard webcam on this laptop is the first from Samsung to feature Staggered HDR. It merges multiple frames at different exposures for a wide dynamic range and better colors. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro has a backlit keyboard and a large multitouch trackpad (with Windows Precision drivers).

Samsung says the large battery inside the Galaxy Book 5 Pro can last up to 25 hours of active usage. It has one HDMI 2.1 port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a microSD card slot.

It also comes with Photo Remaster feature to upscale low-resolution images.

Other Galaxy ecosystem features on the laptop include Multi Control, Quick Share, and Second Screen.

Lee Min-cheol, Head of Samsung MX's Galaxy Ecosystem team, said, “In the growing AI PC market, we are delighted to be the first in Korea to introduce the ‘Galaxy Book5 Pro,’ which will lead popularization based on Galaxy AI. We will expand the application of Galaxy AI to various products and build an unrivaled AI ecosystem.
